In Pau, TotalEnergies and the Section say “thank you” to the main players in the health crisis

The first rugby match of the season on the field of the Hameau stadium in Pau was an event in itself. TotalEnergies did not want to wait any longer to commend the local healthcare players mobilized on the frontline during the health crisis and, as a gesture of thanks, more than 300 people were invited to the Top 14 match between the Section Paloise Béarn Pyrénées and Agen on September 11. The management teams of the F. Mitterrand hospital in Pau, the Centre Hospitalier des Pyrénées, the Marzet, Arressy and Navarre clinics, and the SDIS 64 (regional fire and rescue team) Commanding Officers handed out tickets to their staff.

A big and heartfelt thank you

To make sure that their “thank you” was a match for the hours of work put in by these crucial players in the crisis that we have still not heard the last of, the supporters, members and partners (limited public in order to respect the health recommendations) rose to the occasion. In a great burst of energy, they rose for a minute to applaud and wave the iconic Green and White scarves. The whole stadium came alive to the ringing of the regional bells which added to the general atmos.

The rugbymen were right on the ball too, sporting a jersey emblazoned with a huge heart in the club’s colors and a "thank you".

TotalEnergies supports enthusiasm and commitment

For each home match, it’s with great pleasure that TotalEnergies welcomes a team of volunteers working on behalf of one of our region’s amateur clubs.

The invitations for this match were sent to the representatives of the Lourdes rugby club, a major team of the Bigorre region, to thank them for their commitment.
