Research & Development
R&D, the spearhead of innovation. Can you guess what the nerve center of Total E&P's Research & Development activities is? The CSTJF of course!
The Jean Féger Scientific and Technical Center (CSTJF) in Pau is a high-profile research and expertise hub, and a source of great pride for TotalEnergies' Exploration & Production branch. The CSTJF boasts state-of-the-art laboratories and a high-performance computer (HPC), providing our Group with the scientific expertise and study resources that put it on the map in the oil & gas world.
With its 2,900 members of personnel from around 60 different countries, the CSTJF is a real melting pot that encompasses all the professions of the exploration and production value chain. The different buildings on site are very close to one another, fostering interaction between geoscientists, drilling and reservoir specialists, and experts in advanced production techniques. It is essential for the know-how of these different disciplines to be successfully integrated in order to preserve our capacity to innovate and meet the new challenges that the oil & gas sector is faced with on the path to sustainable energy.
From its position in Southwest France, our technological center of excellence offers support to its affiliates across the globe. The CSTJF helps them on a daily basis to improve their safety performance, increase their operational excellence, cut their costs and carry out projects on time and within budget.
It is through the CSTJF, the technical and scientific heart and soul of TotalEnergies, that the Group demonstrates its know-how as an operator and a responsible partner, able to provide cleaner and safer energy at the best possible cost.
Closely related to the Béarn region and Pau through their common industrial history, the CSTJF also plays a pivotal role in the region’s economic and social fabric. It is established as a key partner in its sustainable growth.
A real international hub, the Pau campus focuses its strategy on innovation to push back technological boundaries and lay the groundwork for the energy of tomorrow. The CSTJF designs first-rate solutions right here, right now.
In Pau and Lacq, operational support and assistance services busy themselves day in and day out so that everyone can fulfill the tasks entrusted to them.
Guaranteeing optimal work conditions for personnel on the CSTJF and PERL sites requires rigorous organization that draws on a set of dedicated services. The aim of the HSE department is to ensure the safety, security and health of all the people working on the sites. It also implements the actions required to limit the environmental impact of the site’s activities, particularly as part of the ISO 14001 certification of laboratory hosting activities. Hosting includes high-quality facility management services. Technology, Planning & Performance, Cost Control, Occupational Health, Quality of Life at Work, Social and Social Relations: these nine departments underpin the vitality of our site and work hand in hand under the aegis of the Pau Delegate Division (DDP).
