Pau gives weight to its rugby with TotalEnergies

Long-standing partner of the Section Paloise Béarn Pyrénées, TotalEnergies is strengthening its commitment alongside the regional club by supporting the creation of the HonhaCamp, an elite training center on a par with the sporting ambitions of the club and the region. A structural project that embodies the shared values of performance, training and a deep-rooted local presence.

For several decades now, TotalEnergies has held a strong, lasting relationship with the rugby world. This sport, firmly anchored in the regions of France is based on authentic values and resonates with those of the Company. Present in over 130 countries, but deeply rooted in the regions of France, TotalEnergies has leveraged local ruby as a means of cohesion and societal commitment.

In France, this commitment takes the form of multi-level partnerships, from young people in amateur clubs, through professional leagues, to the national teams. Official partner of the TOP 14 and PRO D2 rugby competitions, the French National Rugby Federation and the French Rugby Union and Sevens teams, TotalEnergies also supports amateur rugby and inclusive initiatives such as the Tournoi National des Quartiers et des Campagnes.

Passion for rugby in Pau is particularly special. Partner of the Section Paloise since 1988, TotalEnergies has supported the club in its development, training, and innovation projects. The creation of HonhaCamp, a new elite training center, is part of the ambitious program.

The HonhaCamp: a center of excellence for rugby in Pau

On June 30, 2025, the Section Paloise officially announced the HonhaCamp, its future elite training center. The name is a nod to the famous honha[1], that resonates in the stands of the Hameau stadium and embodies the club’s identity and ambition. As from summer 2026, the 3,000 m² complex, located East of the stadium, will be home to the professional team, the training center and the U20s team.

The HonhaCamp will include a hybrid field, a covered field, weight-training areas, a treatment and recovery center, a brasserie and offices, and aims to provide an optimal environment for sporting performance and training talented players. Funded entirely by the SASP Section Paloise for a sum of 11 million euros, it marks a major step in the club’s growth strategy.

In this naming partnership - common practice in professional sports - the name of the multi-energies Company will be directly associated with this emblematic infrastructure, in acknowledgement of its strategic and financial commitment.

For Pascal Breton, Manager of the Company’s rugby partnerships: "The HonhaCamp TotalEnergies is much more than a training center: it is a place where high standards will drive performance and enable the Section to remain one of the major clubs of the TOP 14 for a long time. By associating our name with this venue, we are asserting a shared outlook focused on a demanding, instructive, and meaningful sport, and our long-term commitment to the Section Paloise and the entire region. The partnership contributes to our desire to support young people, bring sport to the fore locally and contribute to collective, forward-looking dynamics."

"In Pau, excellence is part of our DNA. The CSTJF embodies high standards in science and technology, to serve the energy sector. Through the HonhaCamp, the Section Paloise is pursuing the same ambition in the sporting world. We are proud for the Company to be contributing to this project, which reflects our attachment to the region and our shared ambition to aim for the very highest standards." enthuses Jérôme Poncet, Head of the Pau Site.

The HonhaCamp is not just a sports facility, it is a symbol of ambition, modernity, and cooperation. It bears witness to the capacity of a club, a company, and a region to join forces to build a meaningful project.
