From June 13 to 15, 2025 our region’s roads welcomed the 4th edition of the International Women’s Cycling Tour of the Pyrenees (TFIP), an elite women’s cycling race. TotalEnergies is a loyal partner of the event and has sponsored the best leading young rider’s jersey since the first edition. In doing so, the Company confirms its commitment toward women’s sport, young people, and the Béarn region, buoyed up by enthusiasm, optimism and local actions.
Classified UCI 2.1, the Women’s Cycling Tour of the Pyrenees is an unmissable race in the women’s professional cycling calendar. "In 2025, 20 teams - most of them professional - and 120 cyclists from all over the world, will set off on the three demanding stages through the Hautes-Pyrénées and Béarn regions," exclaims Elisabeth Chevanne, who works relentlessly and enthusiastically at the head of the organization team. "Our ambition is to make the TFIP a major event on the international calendar of women’s sport and to promote women’s cycling to encourage vocations throughout France and in Europe through media coverage of the event," adds the President, who also manages and coordinates the women’s professional sector in the French Cycling Federation.
With a team of over 350 people mobilized for the event, the organization team tends to each and every detail of the coordination, safety and sporting aspects to ensure that the event is a success. "What has won us over since the advent of this competition," explains Jérôme Poncet, Head of the TotalEnergies Site in Pau, "is that beyond the sporting values we share, the race is also a human adventure that mobilizes local communities, volunteers, the police and the residents in an atmosphere of celebration and solidarity. We love this mindset that combines individual strengths to produce a wonderful event for both the competitors and spectators.
The out-and-out winner of the event was Usoa Ostolaza Zabala. The Spanish champion confirmed her supremacy after her victory last year and also took home the green jersey for the points ranking (10hrs 15’27”). It was also a Spanish rider, 22 year-old Paula Blasi-Cairol, who finished "Best young rider" of the tour. The young rider has already received awards in other sports such as athletics and triathlon. She has made a promising start in the cycling world and ranked fifth overall for the tour, at +1’27”!
Julie Dejean, Head of the Brands & Sponsoring department at TotalEnergies, traveled to the Béarn region for the occasion. Having followed the race at the heart of the action, for the last stage until the finish in Pau, she was full of praise for the quality of the event, which showcases elite women’s cycling and promotes the landscapes, towns, and villages along the stage. On June 15, she was delighted to award the jersey for the "Best Young Rider" to Paula. After congratulating the cyclist, she went on to say: "This partnership is fully in line with the Company’s strategy: to be receptive to the regions, close to communities and a main player in local development. By supporting the TFIP, TotalEnergies contributes to the promotion of an event that combines sporting excellence, equal opportunities, and the promotion of promising young sportswomen. The Company firmly believes that sport is a powerful way to inspire the younger generations, foster inclusion and strengthen social ties."
The International Women’s Cycling Tour of the Pyrenees is a regional project and a true showcase for the promotion of women’s sport. TotalEnergies is proud to support this project, which is part of a wider initiative to promote youth - through this partnership, the Company also wants to encourage young athletes to believe in their potential and embark on paths toward excellence.
