Supporting innovation for the ecology and energy transition

  • TotalEnergies is one of the longstanding founder members of the Hélioparc technology hub in Pau, RETIS-certified. (RETIS is, the French network of innovation experts).
  • Hélioparc has built an efficient territorial ecosystem to work toward the creation and development of new, innovative activities, including the Greenov incubator.
  • TotalEnergies and Hélioparc stand together on sustainable development topics that reflect the transformation of our multi-energy Company.

The new incubator, designed and hosted by the Hélioparc technology hub, with support from TotalEnergies and other partners, is dedicated to the emergence of projects likely to contribute to reducing the impact of human activity on the climate.

TotalEnergies’ history is built around a culture of “creating partnerships”, and this is all the more true in the Pau-Béarn territory. Supporting, working with and showcasing structures that can provide tangible, effective solutions, tailored to local specificities and international projects, is in our Company’s DNA.  All the more so when public interest is part of the package. TotalEnergies is now a multi-national, multi-energy Company, that produces and supplies energy. All the aspects of sustainable development are at the heart of its projects and operations, to contribute to the wellbeing of populations. Its strength in innovation is a real asset in this approach.

Building on its steadfast territorial commitment, it was a logical move for the Company to reply to local requests and support the technology hub in Pau in the creation of Greenov by Hélioparc. Whether entrepreneurs come with ideas of eco-innovation, eco-design, circular economy, new energies and resources, or renewable energies , the high-potential projects that Greenov welcomes to its ecosystem, have all the necessary components to help them develop their companies. Three innovative structures in the energy and ecological transition  have already moved into the new incubator. With support from the Nouvelle Aquitaine region, the Pau conurbation , French Tech, Terega, Enedis and TotalEnergies, the fledgling companies can enjoy a year of incubation, comprising free premises (office space, workshops, meeting rooms), access to different services, support and customized coaching sessions, group training courses, and networking with the different partners to boost corporate development.

"We are right at the heart of the themes that mirror the transformation of our Company” explains Jean-Paul Riquet, Nouvelle Aquitaine Regional Director at TotalEnergies. “That’s why we strongly encourage and support this initiative that has taken root in our territory, and brings together public and private players to contribute to the energy and ecological transition - without doubt the challenge of the century. Helping entrepreneurs with projects like this is a source of pride and humility. We’ll definitely be embarking on some wonderful, people-focused adventures, to monitor and support" he continues.

Greenov offers its residential start-ups ambitious and responsible innovation processes, as well as infrastructures tailored to efficient product development. Everything they need for fast-track access to the market, promoting the solutions of tomorrow. The winners of the 2023 edition will certainly be able to draw on these resources to galvanize their ideas and make future plans. Graines de compost proposes the creation of a local virtuous loop for collecting and processing organic waste, selling compost and delivering fresh produce: "From farm to plate and plate to farm"; Pyrénées Chanvre aims to develop a local, short-circuit hemp distribution network, and promote this type of fiber (textile and construction sectors) and seed (food sector); and TechBioEnergy, has developed a biomass and wet waste treatment solution by gasification (transformation of organic matter into fuel gas that can be used to produce energy). They’ll be joined by other "seedlings" in 2024.
