The TotalEnergies SPECTRoom for operational support to teams
- The TotalEnergies Site in Pau has created a space dedicated to the optimization of collaborative work.
- Recently inaugurated, the SPECTRoom (Specialist Collaboration and Technical Room) is a place where experts from different disciplines can rapidly meet to work together, interactively.
- Hydrocarbon production sites benefit the most from this new tool, which also has its place in activities related to new energies.
The SPECTRoom is located right at the heart of the CSTJF and is an innovative space especially designed for collaborative work. Comprising a main plenary room that can receive up to 20 people, and two adjacent work spaces, it also has a large screen divided into four, so that several tools can be shared and displayed simultaneously, and an interactive screen. "These smartboards mean that we can, for example, visualize how data from our industrial systems evolve, zoom in on a graph and annotate it directly, or create a diagram to be shared with all the people logged in to the meeting" explains Diane Lecoeur, Head of the Allocation and Metering service.
Simultaneous display, a major asset
The SPECTRoom can rally together experts from different specialty disciplines in agile mode to monitor equipment, resolve a problem and provide support to affiliates. With the same level of information on a subject, thanks to the pooling of available tools, and cross-functional work with all the required disciplines represented, solutions can be found faster. The SPECTRoom provides the opportunity to cross-examine the data from all the stakeholders on a given subject and to make sure that the teams, affiliates and entities all understand the issue in the same way, to provide a consistent response. When an incident needs to be processed, it’s important to have an information source that everyone can share. "This room makes it much easier to provide support and assistance to our affiliates worldwide. The tools can be useful to everyone and are intended to be rolled out in all the branches at TotalEnergies." adds Diane Lecoeur.
The SPECTroom is a space for real-time technical collaboration, where sharing quality data and information is made easier. Remote configuration of a tool, understanding certain phenomena, calling on specialists to share their vision of the situation and their recommendations, etc. This innovative way of working can apply to a wide range of operations. For example, the room is also particularly suited to technical training and coaching. Christophe Lion, head of the Commissioning & Preparation for Operations service, agrees: "Before the SPECTRoom opened, training courses were difficult to run and were done on computers with the training instructor and the trainees present. Now all we have to do is log on to a database in the cloud to access multi-screen modules and interact using the cameras."
