SWAP, a platform for decarbonizing the water recycling process

The SWAP pilot is a modular platform that can receive and test different water treatment and recycling techniques for different input and output water qualities, using different renewable energy sources (solar, wind, thermal solar, hybridization). The platform is completely energy-independent and does not generate any direct CO₂ emissions.

As regards the management of water resources, SWAP aims to reuse all the available water resources on or close to TotalEnergies sites, with the lowest possible carbon and environmental footprints. The pilot is also designed to study and develop any synergies that may exist between energy production and water treatment, as well as dynamic optimization models of production systems using intermittent resources.
