The Pilot Rivers at the PERL comprise 16 artificial water courses, all identical and independent, supplied with water from the Gave de Pau. This open-air site provides a controlled environment for studying the effects of industrial activities on the natural ecosystem. Pilot Rivers can be used to simulate different exposure scenarios at different trophic levels, while continuously measuring the physical-chemical parameters, thereby contributing to the development of techniques for evaluating and minimizing industrial impacts on the environment.
