TotalEnergies and rugby, a great story
TotalEnergies, major partner of the Section
For the past 30 years, TotalEnergies is proud to have been a stalwart partner of the Section, the flagship rugby club of the Béarn region created in 1902, now playing among the elite teams of the Top 14 national rugby league. TotalEnergies has fully understood that rugby is the DNA of South West France, and the Section, the backbone of the Béarn. Since December 2023, TotalEnergies has also been a partner of the Section Paloise Lons Féminin. With this new partnership, established on the same basis as that of the men's section, the Company wishes to contribute to the growth of women's rugby and the status of female players.

TotalEnergies is the sponsor of the Section training center, certified by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the National Rugby League. Giving young people the opportunity to thrive in a stimulating environment from an athletic, professional, and personal point of view, is an important challenge for the Group. What is the objective? To enable each and every one of them to express their potential, as young people are the lifeblood of our regions and key to making sure they continue to thrive.
Beyond the passion for the sport, the oval ball is also a formidable economic lever for the region. Every match at Pau's Stade du Hameau is a celebration that attracts thousands of fans, generates business and energizes local amateur clubs.
TotalEnergies partner of professional and amateur rugby
In 2023, TotalEnergies was proud to take part in the Rugby World Cup in France as an Official Sponsor. This global and regional event featured 51 days of competition, 48 matches, 9 host cities in France, 20 qualified countries and millions of spectators. We were keen to celebrate this partnership around a team sport with all our employees in 130 countries around the world, and to help promote the competition to the public.
We shared the ambition of the Rugby World Cup France 2023 organization to place sustainable development at the heart of their strategy, projects and operations. We worked together towards the goal of an environmentally virtuous event, notably through the implementation of a low-carbon mobility plan and the supply of green energy.
At the end of 2023, TotalEnergies announced a partnership with the Ligue Nationale of Rugby (LNR) running through to the 2025-2026 season. The multi-energy company thus becomes an official partner of the TOP 14 and will support the development of the PRO D2.

Namely, the company has also promoted rugby in Africa by being the title partner of the Rugby Africa Cup, an African qualifying tournament.
