TotalEnergies Pau welcomes the young hires from the Graduate Program

In 2022, OneTech, the branch of TotalEnergies that groups together all the Company’s technical and scientific competencies across the entire energy chain, decided to open the Technical Graduate Program designed for young engineers with a Master 2 degree in science, obtained in either an engineering school or a university. The aim is to support the energy transition of our multi-energies Company and reveal the potential of its young hires.

The latest cohort of 30 young graduates (17 women, 13 men, 17 different nationalities) will complete two or three 11-month assignments and immersion periods on the sites of the different branches to acquire a range of competencies in the different energy sectors.

Young graduates talk about their experience: Philippe Dufour, Technical Competencies Lead and Céline Eid, a young graduate (Bachelor of Science (BS) in petroleum studies from the American University of Beirut (AUB), Lebanon + MSc in petroleum and gas engineering from the University of Portsmouth, United Kingdom + PhD in civil and environmental engineering from the Polytechnic University in Turin, Italy.

A springboard to a promising career

The TotalEnergies Technical Graduate Program is a unique opportunity for young graduates who are passionate about the energy sector. The program is designed to train the next generation of professionals able to tackle future energy challenges. By joining the program, students benefit from high-quality training and total immersion in the different facets of the energy industry, and work several assignments in different energies, teams and work sites, either in France or abroad.

The two centers of excellence on the Pau TotalEnergies Site, the CSTJF and the PERL, welcomed young hires from the last cohort of students, in October 2024, as part of their induction and onboarding period. The 30 students were able to discover the ins and outs of innovative projects and cutting-edge technologies, and met many professionals passionate about their jobs: tours of the different laboratories  including the corehouse, discovery of the unmissable super computer Pangea 4 and Pangea cloud, and the Innovation Accelerator, among others…

Customized support

Throughout the program, young graduates are mentored by volunteer staff who support them to improve their acculturation. The mentors - experienced TotalEnergies experts - give their support and advice to help the students achieve their professional objectives and enable them to fulfill their potential and move forward in the Company. The new cohort met the mentors during a relaxed break and a specific workshop to explain how the mentoring system works.

Pascaline Heckle

According to Pascaline HECKLE, Senior Technical Competencies Manager, project lead and manager of 30 graduates, there are real advantages in participating in this program compared with other professional opportunities: "starting of course, with the discovery of the different energies, various technical issues and the immersion periods on different Company sites. There is also the specific four-day onboarding period in which they rapidly discover our main technical and strategic challenges through presentations and games, and by discussing the Company’s key themes such as safety, ethics, integrity, diversity, innovation, citizenship engagement, sustainability, etc. These activities and meetings create cohesion among the students in the cohort, the first step in creating a network that they will keep for their entire career."

By promoting this program, TotalEnergies confirms its commitment to training young graduates with high potential and advocating sustainable energy for all.
